Rock 101D Sun, Jan 25 Concert Celebration- Bad Moon Rising January 25, 2026
YOUR ROCK STAR IS NOW ENROLLED FOR THEIR “BAD MOON RISING” CONCERT CELEBRATION. Your Concert Date is Sunday, January 25th. Your Call Time is: 1:30pm***.
We are READY to ROCK and celebrate our BAD MOON RISING Music Festival. Your Rock Stars have been working hard and are going to light the stage on fire!
We will be rockin' all day Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th. Our Adult bands are performing the first weekend of February! We can't wait to see your Rock Stars come to life onstage!!!
***Your call/show time is set and cannot be changed. Your group of concerts will start 30 minutes to an hour after your call time and will run one band after another. Please plan on being at the venue for approximately 2-3 hours and enjoy the shows! It’s always great to support the other bands :)
Our AWESOME Teachers will be performing at 1:45pm on Saturday, January 24th and 2:45pm on Sunday, January 25th. You won’t want to miss watching the rock stars that make it happen for your rock stars!
If you have questions or if you need to reach us on the days of the concert: PLEASE CALL OR TEXT ANDREW at 210-710-4341. We will NOT have anyone at the school on any of the concert days. IT TAKES OUR ENTIRE STAFF TO RUN THESE EVENTS, so we will all be at the concert.
LOCATION: Alzafar Shriner's Outdoor Pavilion. 901 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78258. The Shriner's is just off the 1604 frontage road between Stone Oak and Blanco Rd. (right past Trader Joe’s just blocks from School of Rock). The Outdoor Pavilion is behind the main Shriner buildings. Just follow your ears! The parking lot is to the left of the buildings and is large, so you shouldn't have problems finding a space. (Parking is FREE).
PLEASE ARRIVE AT OR BEFORE CALL TIME - DO NOT BE LATE!!! We have a VERY tight schedule with 80 bands performing over the two days. If you arrive late, you may miss the performance - we cannot wait for you. Also note that all of the show times include multiple bands. In these cases, all bands arrive at the same call time and perform one following the other, so relax, sit back and enjoy the shows.
This is a rain or shine concert and the venue is completely covered. Remember it is outdoors, so dress accordingly. Water bottles are highly recommended, though we will have water available for the kids.
SHOW SHIRTS: To order a show shirt, YOU MUST PRE-ORDER. We will be offering a standard t-shirt and a ladies cut t-shirt for sale. Show shirts are optional and will be distributed the week before the concert. Here is the link to order (if you prefer, you can also call or come by the school to place your order):

FOOD TRUCKS / VENDORS: Food trucks will be onsite: Smoky Blue BBQ, Suni Blingo, a Root Beer Float truck and several vendors that will vary a bit each day.
TICKETS: You do not need tickets for this event (the Pavilion is large and accommodates a large number of guests). Please invite your family and lots of friends so we have an amazing crowd for the kids! We will be giving you postcards to pass out to remind everyone.
SAFETY IS ALWAYS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY, so please note the following:
1. UPON ARRIVAL:
- Please check in at the entrance tables with Renae, Kehl, Charlene, Amy and/or Abigail.
- At Call Time, please have your musician go to the School of Rock tent next to the stage for band check-in, tuning, etc. DO NOT BE LATE. CALL TIME IS VERY IMPORTANT.
- DO NOT enter our "backstage" area. For the safety (and sanity) of our students, it is for students and staff only. The kids get really nervous when parents hang around (remember the other kids don't know you). This is also a safety feature. We will make sure the kids get back to you as soon as they are done performing.
2. SEATING
- Audience Tables will be separated in a checkerboard pattern. Each table seats 10-12 people. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE OUR TABLES. They will be spaced for both safety and visibility.
- The FRONT TWO ROWS will be reserved for the families of the band that is currently playing. Everyone gets a “front row” during their kids performance!
- When you arrive, you will receive a chalkboard name plate. Write your name on it, then choose a table that does not already have a chalkboard indicating it is reserved.
- When it is time for your rock star to take the stage, please leave your name plate on your table and move to the reserved front row tables.
- Once your child's band is finished, please move back to your original table and enjoy more concerts!
- Please remove your place saver from your table and return it to the check in table when you leave for the day.
- This is a non-smoking event, so please refrain from smoking within the Pavilion area.
3. BRING THE FOLLOWING:
- Everyone: Earplugs, plus...
- Guitarists / Bassists: guitar, strap, picks, case. Amps and cables will be on-stage. We will also have a tuning station with Mr. Emilio assisting the rock stars.
- Drummers: drum sticks - Drums will be setup on stage.
- Vocalists: a warmed up voice :) We will have microphones ready.
- Keyboardists: fingers ready to play! Keyboards will be on-stage.
4. ATTIRE
- Dress like a rock star. Be comfortable. We encourage the kids to dress however they will feel most comfortable onstage. Some will dress up, others will wear jeans and a t-shirt. It is going to be a September weekend, so it may be hot, so just have fun with it!
We are really looking forward to our season concert and once again, celebrating the success of all of our students!
